Fourty years of ASIO's unclassified history
Dr John Blaxland takes us through 40 years of Australian spy history, from KGB moles in ASIO to political activism in the 60s to the sophistication of espionage.
His book ‘The Secret Cold War: The Official History of ASIO, 1975 to 1989’ written with Rhys Crawley is the latest volume in a three-part series that explores the role ASIO played in Australia’s post-war political and social history.
Dr John Blaxland is an Associate Professor at the Australian National University’s Strategic and Defence Studies Centre and a former Director of Joint Intelligence Operations at Headquarters Joint Operations Command.
