ANU Careers and the Strategic & Defence Studies Centre (SDSC) warmly invite all current mid-degree International Security Studies students to attend the upcoming info session, ‘Strategise your career’. This is an opportunity to hear from and speak directly with graduate employers to help you plan ahead for your career after ANU.
In this two-hour session, career experts and employers will be sharing their insights on the following topics:
- Preparing for successful grad applications: From work experience and volunteering to setting goals and creating action plans, we’ll run you through the things you can do now to prepare for future grad applications.
- Marketing yourself to potential employers: We’ll equip you with skills-based strategies for connecting with employers, networking, and getting you interview ready.
- Employers’ expectations: With presentations from the employers themselves, learn exactly what organisations expect from graduates.
SDSC is working in collaboration with ANU Careers to give students studying a Bachelor of International Security Studies a better idea of what their future career might look like, and what they can do to get their foot in the door. This ‘mid-degree’ careers info session is the first in a series of three careers events for 2019. The second event will be held in July for first-year students, and the third event will be held in October for final-year students.
If you have any feedback or requests for future events, please email the Bell School events team via Sophie Riedel (sophie.riedel@anu.edu.au), or your student representatives JJ Klug (u6045102@anu.edu.au) and Georgia van der Westhuizen (u6081689@anu.edu.au) to discuss.
